Subsea Cable Ops Between Hei Ling Chau and Sunshine Island
GAC Hong Kong informed yesterday that, for approximately one week, marine works involving removal of submarine tracking cables and concrete blocks will be carried out between Hei Ling Chau and Sunshine Island.
Accoding to GAC, the works will be carried out by one crane boat. Some work boats will provide assistance. Some tugs and guard boats will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.
Working hours will be from 08:00 to 17:00 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the working hours.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the operation and within working hours.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.
