SWS Implements Safety Management Promotion Project

To further strengthen basic safety management, improve safety self-management system, ensure the implementation of safety training, prevent accidents and improve safety management level systematically, in accordance with the requirement of safety production by CSSC, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS) has begun to adopt quantified index to measure safety self-management and every other safety indicator and fully implemented Safety Management Promotion Project that began in April.

Insisting on the scientific concept of “people-oriented safety development”, and the policy of “safety first, prevention foremost, comprehensive management”, the project was carried out focusing on the requirement of restructuring development and being more superior and powerful, as stipulated by the National Production Safety Law.

The Project was divided into five aspects: firstly, the establishment and operation of Production Safety Management System, system rules and production standards; secondly, determining the evaluation index for the production safety; thirdly, defining the evaluation methods; fourthly, information build-up for safety management improvement; and finally setting up a working platform for learning, communication, mutual assistance and joint improvement.

This project has focused on setting up the safety management organizational structure, production safety standardization, occupational safety and health management system, safety management rules, standardization of post safety management, three levels of safety training, production team standard reaching, 5S management, safety emergency plan management, which includes 9 aspects and 22 quantified indexes. Based on innovation management, this project can solve the outstanding safety issues and weak links in the production chain, in an effort to uphold the safety management system and fully prevent accidents.
