Taizhou CATIC Starts Building 3rd Bulker for Dometic Owner

China’s shipbuilder Taizhou CATIC Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Limited held a steel-cutting ceremony early December for the 3rd 38,000T Bulk Carrier (TK1008), being built for a domestic owner.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the owner and the Class site surveyors together with relevant leaders of the shipyard.

The bulker encompasses an overall length of 179.90 meters, a beam of 30.00 meters and a draft moulded equaling to 15.20 meters.

Classed by the Lloyd’s Register, the bulk carrier has the designed speed of 14 knots.

Taizhou CATIC Shipbuilding, founded in 2007, specializes in construction of bulk carriers which range from 57000 tons, 92500 tons, 82000 tons to 38,000 tons, including 27000 tons multipurpose vessels and 3800 TEU container vessels.
