Talisman Sinopec changing offshore shift patterns

Talisman Sinopec Energy UK is reportedly making a move to change the shift patterns for its offshore workers.

The idea is to move the North Sea workers, the majority of them have up until now been spending two weeks onshore and two weeks offshore, onto a three-week shift pattern.

A Talisman spokeswoman said to STV: “Following a working group review, Talisman proposes to move to a three-three rota, which would deliver essential cost efficiencies in a safe manner.

“It is our intention to enter into a formal consultation process and we are currently developing the plans for this and we aim to communicate these to our staff as soon as possible.”

The company previously announced plans to cut 300 jobs as a result of cost-saving measures.
