GAC: Tankers Facing Berthing Delays at Dongying Port

Due to port congestion and bad weather at China’s Dongying Port, tankers calling at Dongying Zhonghaiyou terminal (CNOOC terminal) are facing a waiting time of around two weeks for berthing to discharge crude oil, GAC informed.

Currently, there are five tankers at anchorage and three forthcoming tankers, according to GAC.

As explained, the terminal arranges berthing plan two days before berthing. Final berthing schedule is fixed one day in advance.

Once waves are up to one meter, all vessels must leave berth.

Since the beginning of December, the port has been closed off and on due to windy weather.

GAC warned that Dongying Port may be closed again on December 16.
