Technip’s TOP Estrela do Mar Arrives in Brazil

Technip’s vessel Top Estrela do Mar has arrived in Brazil and has started operations.

Characterized by its high pipelay tension capacity of 550 tons, the vessel will be employed mainly to install umbilical and flexible flowlines and risers to connect subsea wells to floating production units.

These installations will take place in waters up to 2,500 meters deep offshore Brazil, including in the pre-salt area.

The 149 meters long and 30 meters wide, multi purpose offshore vessel, with displayed deadweight of 12 000 tons, was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Geoje in South Korea.

The vessel is a part of JV between Odebrecht Oil & Gas and Technip, formed in 2011, to build and operate two flexible pipe lay vessels (PLSV TOP Coral do Atlantico and PLSV TOP Estrela do Mar).
