Tersan Builds Volstad’s New OCV

Construction officially has begun on Volstad Shipping’s AS new Subsea IMR and Construction Vessel at Tersan shipyard (Turkey).

Although the construction of the vessel will take place abroad, the contract will be of great value to many Norwegian suppliers. Approximately 50% of the contract value is related to Norwegian equipment and services.

The new vessel has main dimensions of 128.5m x 25m and is of ST-259 design. She is a purpose built Offshore Construction Vessel / ROV / Survey vessel specially designed for operation in arctic waters and with high maneuverability and station keeping capabilities.

Estimated delivery time is Q4/2015.
