 Thailand PTTEP Opens New Support Base for E&P Activities

On August 1, 2013 PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, or PTTEP, held an opening ceremony for new Support Base in Pak Nam District, Ranong Province.

 Somchai Manopinives, PTTEP’s Executive Vice President of Operations, Supply Chain and Technology Group, joined together with Acting Sub-Lieutenant Cherdsak Jampathes, Ranong Governor, and Chamroen Photiyod, Director of Regional Customs Bureau 1, presided over the opening ceremony with government officials and media joined the ceremony.

RSB was established to provide support to exploration and production activities in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Mataban, the Union of Myanmar; consist of Zawtika, Myanmar M3, Myanmar M11 projects and other joint venture projects such as Yadana and Yetagun Projects.

Other than enhancing exploration and production activities, RSB, as PTTEP’s new support base in addition to Petroleum Development Support Base in Songkhla, will also improve logistics operational efficiency and maximize time and cost savings. Furthermore, RSB also plays an important role in stabilizing Thailand’s economy and energy, providing career opportunities for local communities and stimulating local businesses such as hotel, restaurant, and shops.
