ThinJack Adds New Member to Its Team (UK)

Aberdeenshire-based oil service firm ThinJack has announced the appointment of Robert Turnbull to the growing team.

Robert brings to the company six years of experience gained from mechanical and electrical settings in the oil and gas sector. Educated at Forres in Moray, Robert has joined the ThinJack team in the role of mechanical technician.

ThinJack specialises in the rigless separation of seized or stuck well flanges. The service uses patented millimetric-thin steel envelopes which are inflated with up to 2,500 bar of hydraulic pressure to exert hundreds of tonnes of force. ThinJack deploys specialist equipment and highly trained technicians anywhere in the world at short notice to separate wellhead flanges which are seized and causing costly delays during well workovers. The unique ThinJack service is a safe and fast solution for separating and jacking in hazardous, difficult or restricted areas.

Commenting on his appointment, Robert said: “ThinJack is an exciting company offering a great service on offshore platforms and I look forward to playing a part in the company’s ongoing international growth.”

ThinJack director Guy Bromby added: “Robert is experienced in tool servicing to an advanced level and is a strong addition to our expanding team. We look forward to working with him.”

Robert joins the team based at ThinJack’s offices in Westhill, Aberdeenshire and will work closely with additional trained field technicians in Melbourne in Australia, Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia and Luling in Louisiana, USA.
