Tidal Lagoon Power has submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment scoping report for a planned tidal lagoon between Cardiff and Newport to the Planning Inspectorate. The proposed Cardiff Tidal Lagoon will be the UK’s first full-scale tidal lagoon power plant building upon the experience gained on Swansea Bay tidal lagoon project, according to the company.

Akuo Energy has signed an agreement with Bell Pirie Power Corp. and Philippine National Oil Company Renewables Corp. (PNOC RC) to deploy an OTEC plant in the Philippines. The signing of this memorandum of understanding represents a step closer for Philippines to increase the percentage of renewable energies fed to its grid.
