Experts Board Grounded Kulluk Off Alaska

A team of six salvage experts boarded the grounded drilling unit Kulluk, off Alaska, to conduct a structural assessment to be used to finalize salvage plans, currently being developed by the Kulluk Tow Incident Unified Command.

Worker Dies while Fixing Jack-Up Rig in Jurong Shipyard (Singapore)

A worker died last Friday in Singapore’s Jurong Shipyard while fixing the Noble Regina Allen rig which tilted in the shipyard last month.

Transocean Settles Deepwater Horizon Case for $1.4 Bln (USA)

Transocean Ltd.  today announced that it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to resolve certain outstanding civil and potential criminal claims against the company arising from the April 20, 2010, accident involving the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico.
