GDF Suez Confirms Death of Two Offshore Workers (The Netherlands)

GDF Suez has confirmed that an accident occurred early on Friday on board of its gas platform in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. Two workers died, and one was injured.

 

Samsung to Build Largest FPSO in the World

South Korea’s shipyard, Samsung Heavy Industries has announced its Nigerian subsidiary has secured an order to build a Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel for an unnamed buyer. The value of the order is approximately $3.0 billion, which will make the vessel the most expensive FPSO ever.

Malaysia’s national oil and gas company Petronas is planning to make a final investment decision for its second FLNG project later in 2013. Reuters has reported, citing a senior company official, that the FLNG facility will be positioned at the Rotan field, offshore Sabah, Malaysia.

 

Ensco Confirms Samsung Drillship Order

The vessel, ENSCO DS-10, will be the eighth Samsung DP3 drillship in the Ensco fleet. Delivery scheduled for the third quarter of 2015.
