Mexico’s national oil and gas company Pemex has hired an offshore drilling rig from Carso Group. The Carso Group is owned by the riches man in the world, Carlos Slim, whose net worth is, according to Forbes, estimated at  $73 billion.

 

Exxon, Statoil to Splash $4 Bln on Julia Development in U.S. GoM

Exxon Mobil and Statoil last week approved the Julia oil field development in the Gulf of Mexico. Capital cost for the project, which is expected to begin oil production in 2016, is estimated to be more than $4 billion.

 

Petronas Buys Into OGX’s Campos Basin Blocks for $850 Mln

OGX , Brazil’s largest private oil and natural gas exploration company, announced entering into an agreement with PETRONAS Brasil E&P Ltda (“Petronas”) to sell a 40% non-operating work interest in BM-C-39 and BM-C-40 blocks, located in the Campos Basin, for a total value of US$850 million.
