1. Demand for ROVs to Increase in 2013 (UK)

Visiongain’s analysis indicates that the global market for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in the oil & gas industry will reach a value of $2.46bn in 2013. The sector will experience strong growth over the forecast period as increasing expenditure in the deepwater and subsea construction markets create strong demand for ROVs.

2. Siem to Install Inner Array Grid Cables for Baltic 2 OWF in Germany

Siem Offshore Contractors GmbH (“SOC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Siem Offshore Inc., announced that SOC has been awarded the contract for the installation of the inner array grid cables for the Baltic 2 Offshore Wind Farm (“OWF”) project by EnBW Baltic 2 GmbH (“EnBW”), a subsidiary of EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH (“EEE”).

3. Technip Names New State-of-the-Art Vessel Deep Orient (Spain)

Technip officially named its latest new vessel in Vigo, Spain. The Deep Orient, a newbuild medium construction vessel, will be dedicated to subsea construction and flexible pipelay projects.

4. Toisa Orders Offshore Construction Vessel from HHI, South Korea

Toisa Ltd. signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the construction of a Multipurpose Offshore Construction Vessel (MOCV) designed by Dutch design office Ulstein Sea of Solutions. The DNV classed vessel is a customized version of Ulstein’s Deepwater Enabler design.
