Topaz Energy and Marine in senior management changes

Offshore support vessel provider Topaz Energy and Marine has made several new appointments to its senior management team.

Topaz said on Tuesday that the company named Martin Helweg as the new chief operating officer (COO), Hicham Hachkal as the HR director, and Robert Desai as the chief commercial officer (CCO).

Helweg takes over the role of COO from the retiring Geoffrey Taylor. He joins Topaz from Svitzer, with almost 20 years of experience in finance and leadership roles in the shipping and o&g industries, spanning across the Americas, Middle East, and Asia.

The new HR director, Hachkal, brings with him 20 years of experience mainly in o&g companies related to HR strategy, talent development, personnel management, and supporting organizations through economic cycles. In his most recent position, he handled Group HR for Seadrill.
