Trafigura grabs Pluto LNG spot cargo

Trafigura, a commodity trading house, has reportedly bought a liquefied natural gas spot cargo to be loaded at Woodside’s Pluto LNG facility at a price lower than $7.50 per mmBtu.

The cargo is scheduled for mid-July delivery to Singapore, sources familiar with the matter told Platts.

The commodity house recently signed a storage deal with Singapore LNG Corporation, operator of the country’s first liquefied natural gas terminal, for utilization of excess capacity within the Singapore LNG terminal on Jurong Island.

Sources also revealed that Trafigura scooped the cargo on a DES basis from Pavilion Energy that has reportedly bought three loads at Pluto LNG located 190km north-west of Karratha, in Western Australia.
