Trinidad and Tobago ships LNG cargo to Brazil

The fifth largest country in the world, Brazil is expected to receive a liquefied natural gas cargo from Trinidad and Tobago next week.

According to shipping data, BP’s British Innovator LNG tanker, with a capacity of 138,000 cbm, is scheduled to dock at the Guanabara Bay terminal around September 26.

Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy recently authorized state-run Petrobras to re-export up to 6.6 million cu m of gas following the rise in the supply of hydropower and decline in the country’s electricity demand.

The authorized quantities of the chilled gas will be re-sold on the spot market from Brazil’s three regasification terminals.
