U.S. offshore rig count rises for three weeks straight

The number of active offshore rigs in the U.S. increased by three units this past week, according to a Wednesday report by Baker Hughes, a GE company.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. -3 to 1,079 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is down 3 rigs from last week to 1,079, with oil rigs down 3 to 885 and gas rigs unchanged at 194.

U.S. Rig Count is up 156 rigs from last year’s count of 923, with oil rigs up 138 and gas rigs up 18.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 3 rigs to 25 and up 3 rigs year-over-year.

 

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada +7 to 204 rigs

Canada Rig Count is up 7 rigs from last week to 204, with oil rigs up 6 to 124 and gas rigs up 1 to 80.

Canada Rig Count is down 11 rigs from last year’s count of 215, with oil rigs up 17 and gas rigs down 28.
