U.S. offshore rig count steady at 20 units

The number of U.S. offshore rigs remained unchanged for the second week in a row, according to weekly rig count reports issued on Friday by Baker Hughes, a GE company. 

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. -4 to 909 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is down 4 rigs from last week to 909, with oil rigs up 1 to 737, gas rigs down 5 to 172, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.

U.S. Rig Count is up 352 rigs from last year’s count of 557, with oil rigs up 296, gas rigs up 58, and miscellaneous rigs down 2 to 0.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged from last week at 20 and down 2 rigs year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada -11 to 191 rigs

Canada Rig Count is down 11 rigs from last week to 191, with oil rigs down 11 to 96 and gas rigs down 1 to 94, and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 1.

Canada Rig Count is up 38 rigs from last year’s count of 153, with oil rigs up 23 and gas rigs up 15.
