Ugland Offshore’s platform supplier to stay with Statoil

Norwegian oil major Statoil has extended the charter contract for one of Ugland Offshore’s platform supply vessels (PSV).

Ugland said that the present contract for the PSV Juanita was extended by a further six months starting from mid-June 2017.

The vessel is currently on a one-year deal with Statoil, awarded to Ugland in mid-June 2016, which has four six-month extension options.

According to the company, the vessel will continue supporting Statfjord, Gullfaks, and other Statoil-operated locations on the Norwegian Continental shelf.

Designed by Salt Ship Design and built by Kleven Verft in Norway, the vessel was launched in September 2013 and delivered in April 2014. It has been working for Statoil since its delivery. The initial contract for the Juanita was for two years with two additional one-year options.

The PSV Juanita is an 88.9 meter-long, 20 meter-wide platform supply vessel which can accommodate 24 crew members. It has a pair of contra-rotating propellers, each driven by a permanent magnet motor, and a flexible cargo-handling arrangement with deep well pumps in all of the ship’s mud, brine, and special product tanks.
