UK: 3sun Gets Probationary Membership to IRATA

UK 3sun Gets Probationary Membership to IRATA

3sun Group has been given probationary membership to International Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA). This certifies that 3sun personnel have the required procedures, skills and techniques to safely work at height.

IRATA is the world’s leading authority on industrial rope access and 3sun was assessed and verified by an independent third party auditor. The company will be re-audited in May 2014 for full membership into IRATA.

IRATA members are obliged to work in accordance with the conditions laid out in the International Code of Practice commended by the Health and Safety Executive (UK).

Graham Hacon, managing director of 3sun said: “Securing probationary IRATA accreditation demonstrates to our clients that we have robust processes, practices and systems in place to deliver our services.

“Following a rigorous audit of the business we have been accepted as a probationary member. This shows that our Quality Assurance, safety, training and Working Practices meet the required standards. As part of the IRATA accreditation process, we will be re-audited in May 2014 for full membership.

“Working within the oil and gas and renewable energy industries, it is essential that we have the required accreditation in place and as a world renowned industry body, IRATA was a key priority for us. Being IRATA approved will enable us to widen our service offering, including scaffolding, blade repairs and inspection. We will also be able to deliver projects which require level 3 IRATA approved technicians who are capable of site supervision for work scopes requiring rope access.”

3sun Group employs 200 staff offshore and onshore and is currently working on several projects in the UK and Europe and has extensive overseas experience having worked in Europe, Asia, Africa, USA and New Zealand. The company will be exhibiting at All Energy at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 22 and 23 May on stand J61.

3sun Group has headquarters in Great Yarmouth, England, and also bases in Oban, Aberdeen and in Bergen, Norway and in Esbjerg, Denmark to support on-going rapid growth. It is also currently looking at other UK and overseas locations.
