UK: Aquatic’s General Manager EMEA to Speak at Subsea 2012

David McKechnie, Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd’s general manager Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), will speak at the prestigious Subsea UK 2012 conference in Aberdeen in February. The title of McKechnie’s paper is “Flexible Intervention – New options to reduce shutdown and disruption”. The presentation will share Aquatic’s perspective on the various options for and give an associated cost–benefit analysis of a flexible intervention service. After providing a historical perspective, McKechnie will discuss the business of retrieving and repairing power and communication cables across the telecommunication and emerging renewable energy sectors and the default option in the oil and gas sector of ”shut down and replace”. He will outline the current market demand and demonstrate how, for an experienced contractor, there is the opportunity to utilise extensive in-house lay and retrieval experience on flexible and semi-rigid products in combination with strong repair skills to deliver a comprehensive, flexible intervention service.

McKechnie has more than 26 years’ experience of deepwater intervention and wide knowledge of the EMEA region across oil, gas, renewable energy, decommissioning and salvage operations.
