UK: Atlantic Array Opponents Call for More Letters to RWE

At this time, a second round of public consultation regarding the Atlantic Array offshore wind farm is underway. This has induced an opposition group called the Atlantic Disarray to organize a public meeting on Friday to determine the best way to respond to RWE.

According to This is North Devon news site, the group called for people to write more letters, because at the last year’s consultation RWE received 202 e-mails and 160 letters. Now, the opponents want thousands of them.

Another group, called Slay the Array, said that individual letters need to be sent, instead of pro-form ones that are grouped together in categories at the end.

In addition, the Atlantic Disarray also hopes to speak to North Devon MP Nick Harvey, who is considered not to be “on board” by some of the members. Mr. Harvey’s office said that he is not someone who opposes to being against the government when necessary, but he will not get a vote on this.
