UK: BG Group Welcomes Andrew Gould to its Board

BG Group has today announced the appointment of Andrew Gould as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st June 2011.

Commenting on the appointment, BG Group Chairman Sir Robert Wilson said: “Andrew has extensive experience of the international oil and gas industry and a background which is highly relevant to BG Group’s business interests around the world. I am delighted to welcome him to the Board.”

BG Group confirms that there are no details to be disclosed under paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) – (6) of the Listing Rules of the United Kingdom Listing Authority. Other than as noted below, Andrew Gould has held no directorships in publicly quoted companies in the past five years.

Andrew  Gould, 64, has been a director of Schlumberger since 2002 and has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since February 2003. Since 2002, he has served as a non-executive director of Rio Tinto plc and Rio Tinto Limited, a mineral resources group. In 2008, he was appointed the senior independent director and chairman of Rio Tinto’s remuneration committee. He is also a member of Rio Tinto’s nominations committee.
