UK: Jee Celebrates 25 Years in Business

UK Jee Celebrates 25 Years in Business

This year, leading independent subsea engineering and training firm Jee Ltd celebrates 25 years in business. During its history the company has experienced significant growth, expanding from one entrepreneurial engineer to a team of 90.

Jee Ltd managing director and founder, Trevor Jee, said: “Reaching our 25-year anniversary is a significant milestone for the company and is ultimately a testament to the team who have worked tirelessly over the years to build our global reputation for technical excellence and outstanding customer service.”

As the company has grown, its capabilities have expanded for Jee to become a leading independent provider of integrated subsea services. In the beginning, the company specialised exclusively on pipeline engineering, carrying out highly technical studies and projects. Realising the potential for growth, Jee expanded its capabilities to include SURF, structures, controls, materials, installation, integrity management, decommissioning and cables.

Mr Jee continued: “The decision to move from being purely a pipeline company to a provider of integrated subsea services was one made quite deliberately, as it has enabled the company to fulfil the needs of customers and provide whole life-of-field engineering for their projects. By introducing new expertise, we have enabled Jee to not only grow, but thrive.”

Through its range of capabilities, Jee has built relationships with key regional and international operators, successfully completing projects around the globe. Recently, the company is completing a ground-breaking renewables project with Technip Offshore Wind Ltd., assisting in the installation of a new offshore wind farm.

Jee’s standards of excellence in engineering were first recognised in 1995 as the benchmark for the industry when the company was commissioned to train a customer’s engineers to Jee standards, instigating the creation of the Jee training courses business. Since then, the training courses have achieved a global reach, expanding into the U.S., Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions. Jee now offers 25 subsea engineering courses via public, in-house classroom and online courses.

Jee’s business strategy has long focussed on controlled growth and the company has seen many milestones since its inception. Originally established from a small base in Kent, Jee opened a second office in Westhill, Aberdeen in 2006 and its first London office in January this year. Both offices were opened in response to client demand and with a strong order book for its services, the company is planning moves to larger offices this summer, with the Aberdeen office moving to new premises that are double the size of its current engineering work space.

Mr Jee continued: “The company was founded on the values of honesty, integrity, technical excellence and looking after our customers, staff and suppliers. Though the industry and the services Jee offers will continue to change and evolve, these values will remain constant.

“We aim to be the first choice for subsea engineering and training in the oil, gas and renewables sectors. We have worked on ground-breaking projects and trained thousands of engineers around the world, developing their skills with our industry-leading courses. This is just the start of a momentous anniversary year for Jee, and we are looking forward to the next 25 years in business.”
