UK MoD Hires James Fisher Defence

James Fisher Defence (JFD), a global sub-sea operations and engineering company, has been awarded a four-year contract to provide Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) support services to the UK Ministry of Defence’s Salvage and Marine Operations (S&MO) team.

The contract affords S&MO 24-hour, on-demand access to JFD’s Engineering Support Cell for specialist support with ROV maintenance, mobilisation, operations, provision of spares and equipment hire services. Technical support, advice and expertise will be provided to S&MO by an Inchinnan-based team of eight personnel including ROV pilots, ROV technicians, subsea engineers, project engineers and project managers.

JFD’s established support network also includes James Fisher and Sons plc sister-companies Osiris and Rumic, as well as Babcock and a number of specialist providers which ensure JFD has the capability to provide S&MO with rapid responses and comprehensive solutions.
