UK UTEC Acquires Star Net Geomatics

Leading independent survey contractor UTEC has announced the acquisition of Star Net Geomatics Limited.

UTEC – with a global footprint comprising 11 offices around the world including Aberdeen, Scotland – has acquired Star Net Geomatics Limited (Star Net) which has its headquarters in Livingston, Scotland (UK) and an operational office in Milton Keynes, England (UK).

The move capitalizes on a natural and highly complementary fit between the two companies and provides a unique opportunity to enhance and increase the range of laser scanning, dimensional control and 3D asset management services available through the iSite portal to UTEC’s global offshore and onshore clients.

Commenting on the acquisition, UTEC CEO Martin O’Carroll said: “Combining our global footprint with Star Net’s market leading asset management software and laser scanning capability allows UTEC to more efficiently provide our clients with the information they need to make more informed decisions.”

Star Net Geomatics Limited MD Douglas Brown, who will continue to head the company, added: “This is an exciting milestone for our company, and we look forward to joining forces with such a noted leader in the global survey sector. Our combined innovation and expertise will create growth opportunities for the group.”
