USA: Bergen County Police Demonstrates Their ROV

USA: Bergen County Police Demonstrate Their ROVThe Bergen County Police this week demonstrated its underwater search robot.

The new SeaBotix LBV-200-4 ROV will spare the diving team from making unnecessary dives.

The county acquired this robot with $107,336 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

One of the operators, sgt. Matthew J. Tiedemann, said: “That’s what we’re looking for in black water like the Passaic River or Hackensack River where we can’t see what we’re doing.”

“This is a tool that we can use without having to put human divers in the water, in contaminated water, to risk their lives for something that may not be there.”
