USA: Corps Invites Comments on Eau Galle Riverbank Stabilization Work

Corps Invites Comments on Eau Galle Riverbank Stabilization Work

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has prepared a Section 404 evaluation, in compliance with the Clean Water Act, in order to perform streambank stabilization work on the Eau Galle River, downstream of the Eau Galle Dam in Spring Valley, Wis.

The public notice is available for public comments.

Approximately 440 feet of the right descending bank immediately downstream of the Eau Galle Dam spillway has eroded as a result of high flows and repairs to the bank are needed to return the area to a pre-flood condition.

If the bank is not repaired, it will continue to erode, which will affect the ability to maintain the project as designed.
