USA: MTU to Present New Generation Diesel Engines at OTC 2011

Business & Finance

At the OTC Oil&Gas Industry Exhibition in Houston, Texas from 2 to 5 May 2011, MTU will be presenting its new generation of Series 2000 and 4000 diesel engines for Oil&Gas applications. To meet the EPA Tier 4 interim emissions specifications which have been in force in the USA since the start of 2011, these units use only in-engine technology and do not require exhaust aftertreatment systems.

Series 2000 engines are used in applications such as pumps, mixers and drilling plants as well as frac, hydration and nitrogen pumps.

Series 4000 engines are used in frac pumps. Despite significantly lower emissions, these reliable, cost-efficient and powerful engines use less fuel than their predecessors in both series. The Tier 4i engines also provide the basis  for compliance with EPA Tier 4 final which comes into force in 2015 and which MTU also aims to achieve using only in-engine solutions. Visitors can find MTU at booth 5563. (kh)
