USACE to Host Industry Day

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, will host an Industry Day on October 23, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the District Headquarters in Walla Walla, Wash.

This event is a free seminar for business owners and representatives focused on how to secure business with the Corps.

Topics to be covered include: where to find Corps contracting opportunities, advanced contracting presentations for those companies with experience in government contracting, basic contracting presentations for those companies with little or no experience who are doing business with the government, including how to respond to solicitations and what happens to a proposal after it is submitted.

A Corps panel discussion focused on “Doing Business with the Corps” is also on the agenda.

This Industry Day event features:

A. Informational briefings presented by district staff on the contracting process,

B. Roundtable discussions with Corps contracting officers, project managers, designers and construction management engineers,

C. Forecasts for upcoming contracting opportunities.

The Walla Walla District, one of 41 districts within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, awards contracts for construction projects, Architect-Engineering studies, and supplies and services needed to operate their facilities. These contracting opportunities total $90 to $130 million annually. The district is responsible for managing environmental, hydroelectric, navigation, engineering, construction, emergency management and recreation services within a region covering 107,000 square miles and includes parts of six states.
