UTEC said that Jon Beatty would lead its Geomarine business unit while long-term employee Greg Hammond would head its StarNet business.

Paul Smith, UTEC group managing director, said: “I am pleased to welcome Jon and Greg to the UTEC leadership team and I am confident that their expertise and experience will contribute significantly to our strategy to drive UTEC into new technological and geographical areas.”

Beatty joins Geomarine as a managing director and is responsible for its range of geotechnical services. He has more than 25 years of international experience with Schlumberger, having served in technical and management positions spanning reservoir characterization, well construction and completion, and production.

Hammond takes on the StarNet business unit director role having been with the business for more than 13 years. During this time, he has been instrumental in StarNet’s development, most recently as business development manager. Previously, Hammond supported the development of iSite, StarNet’s visual asset management solution.

Last month, UTEC appointed Nadir Rahmatullah as new commercial and strategy director of its Middle East and Caspian operations and named Paul Smith as the group’s new managing director.
