Venture Global LNG Files for DOE Export Authorization

Venture Global LNG filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy for long-term, multi-contract authority to export domestically produced and previously imported liquefied natural gas up to a total of five million metric tons per annum (approximately 243.6 Bcf of natural gas) over a twenty-five year period to countries with and without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.

Venture Global requests this export authorization in conjunction with its plan to develop, own and operate the Venture Global LNG Project, a mid-scale natural gas liquefaction and LNG export terminal to be located along the Calcasieu Ship Channel in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The company said it has executed an agreement for the exclusive right to lease approximately sixty- nine (69) acres for the project site.
