Venture Global LNG Gets New Senior Advisor

Venture Global LNG announced the addition of a new senior advisor to the company. John Ruggirello has joined the company as member of Venture Global’s Advisory Board.

Mr. Ruggirello held various management positions with AES Corporation, a global power company, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He was responsible for construction and operation of infrastructure and power generating plants in twenty countries and served on the Board of Directors for AES subsidiaries and joint ventures in the U.S., Panama, Chile, Northern Ireland, Oman and Qatar. Prior to joining AES, Mr. Ruggirello was Operations Manager for a division of the Diamond Shamrock Corporation.

“We are excited Mr. Ruggirello has agreed to join our team as a senior advisor and member of our Advisory Board,” said Michael Sabel, Co-Managing Director of Venture Global LNG, “he is one of the most experienced executives in the energy industry with extensive global project development and energy operations background, and we will benefit greatly from his involvement as we grow our business and develop our initial phase of 5 MTPA of liquefaction capacity.”

Venture Global has a 109-acre site close to the Gulf of Mexico and located directly on the Calcasieu Ship Channel south of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The channel is maintained year-round by the U.S. government. The area is one of the most liquid and robust natural gas trading areas in North America, and several major interstate and intrastate natural gas pipelines are within a few miles. The Gulf of Mexico proximity substantially shortens loading turn-around times compared to the more inland Lake Charles area. The site offers room for expansion beyond the initial 5 MTPA capacity, with over 2000 feet of channel frontage, full road and water access, and adequate buffers.

The team targets commencing construction in mid-2015 and a commercial operations date in the third quarter 2018.

Venture Global has announced a global offer of 5 MTPA of tolling capacity and/or liquefied natural gas supply from its facility under development in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
