VIDEO: Aker Solutions lifts Dvalin subsea template

Oil and gas company DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG has launched a video showing the Dvalin template lift at Aker Solutions’ yard in Norway.

Aker Solutions is in charge of making the subsea production system for the DEA-operated Dvalin development, located in the Norwegian Sea some 15 kilometers north-west of Heidrun and 290 kilometers from Nyhamna. The system consists of a template and a four-slot manifold. Aker Solutions will also be in charge of maintenance.

DEA submitted the plan for development and operation of the Dvalin field, formerly known as Zidane, to Norwegian authorities in October 2016. The development plan was approved by the authorities in March 2017.

It entails a subsea tieback to the adjacent Heidrun platform in the Norwegian Sea. Gas from the field will be transported via Heidrun through the Polarled pipeline to the Nyhamna processing plant before being sent to the European market. First production is planned for 2020.

As previously reported by Offshore Energy Today, Aker Solutions in January 2018 delivered the subsea template for the Dvalin development. The template was delivered do DEA after 15 months of production at the Aker Solutions yard in Egersund. It is stored in Egersund until load out and installation on the Dvalin field by TechnipFMC, which is currently planned to take place in April 2018.

Aker Solutions in Egersund will continue the assembly work on the manifold module, which is on schedule for delivery in 1Q 2019.
