VIDEO: Edda Freya Hits the Water

On Saturday August 15, 2015 it was time for Østensjø Rederi’s new offshore construction vessel, named Edda Freya, to test the waters.

The subsea construction vessel is 150 m long and is designed with focus on cable laying operations, offshore construction and IMR operations. The vessel is going to work for Deep Ocean when she is delivered in February 2016.

With the help a tug Felix, the offshore construction vessel was successfully launched at noon at Kleven shipyard in Norway, under the watchful eye of the shipowner Johannes Østensjø and COO Kenneth Walland present.

The vessel is designed by Salt Ship Design.
