VIDEO: Ulstein Builds ‘Island Constructor’

Designed by Ulstein Design AS (Ulstein SX 121) and launched in February 2008 from the Ulstein Verft shipyards in Norway, the Island Constructor (Hull no. 279) is Island Offshore’s offshore construction and well intervention vessel.

M/V ISLAND CONSTRUCTOR is an Offshore Construction and Well Intervention Vessel with ULSTEIN X-BOW® designed by Ulstein Design AS.

The vessel is equipped with a diesel electric power plant serving two main azimuth thrusters, two retractable thrusters and two side thrusters.

The vessel is equipped, built and certified according to IMO Class III for Dynamic Positioning, ensuring the vessel to obtain the best sea keeping and station keeping capabilities in DP manoeuvering.

The vessel’s main activities are Well Intervention Services with Subsea Lubricator System (LWI), Subsea Construction and Equipment Installation (OCV), Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) and ROV Services.
