Video: USCG Airlifts Three from Bulker

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced three injured mariners from the 623-foot bulk carrier Almasi over 50 miles off Oregon, February 05, 2015.

The MH-60 Jayhawk crew responded to provide medical assistance and evacuation after the crew of the Cyprus-flagged Almasi reported injuries, including chemical burns and a broken leg.

The seamen were reportedly injured while while refueling and cleaning cargo holds.

The three men were transferred to local emergency medical services at Air Station Astoria for further transport to Columbia Memorial Hospital for advanced medical care.

The Almasi continued its voyage from Portland to Nakhodka, Russia.
