Vitol to deliver single LNG cargo to Jordan

Trading house Vitol has been selected through a tender to deliver the single cargo of LNG to Jordan’s National Electric Power Company.

Sources revealed to Reuters that the cargo should be delivered in August.

The delivery date set through the tender was August 14-17 while traders revealed that the transaction was priced at $7.35 per million British thermal units.

Jordan received its first cargo of LNG in May onboard the Golar Eskimo FSRU that will be permanently moored in the Port of Aqaba.

Capable of storing 160,000 cubic metres of LNG and delivering up to 500 MMSCFD with a peaking capacity of 750 MMSCFD, the FSRU is connected to the Jordan gas transmission pipeline that delivers the fuel to power plants throughout the country.
