VRA eyeing LNG supplies

Volta River Authority of Ghana is looking to pen a deal for the supply of liquefied natural gas in order to meet the projected growth of demand from the power supply sector.

According to VRA’s Chairman Lee Ocran, the company has made gas supply its priority.

Ocran added that the company  is exploring the possibility of securing additional gas supplies with potential suppliers in Nigeria and have initiated a number of gas supply agreements.

VRA is considering a proposal from Quantum Power Ghana Gas to deliver regasified LNG to its plants in Tema, the company revealed in a statement.

The gas would be delivered to a floating storage and regasification unit that would feed the power plants through a pipeline.
