WATCH: Subsea Celebration of Norwegian Constitution Day

The crew aboard a 121 meters long offshore construction vessel Normand Reach celebrated the Norwegian Constitution Day in their own original way.

Norway’s Constitution Day is celebrated on May 17. It commemorates the date when the nation’s constitution was signed at Eidsvoll on May 17, 1814.

To honor this national holiday Normand Reach and the team from Reach, DOF and Solstad  have created a video which shows a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) placing a Norwegian flag 307 meters below sea surface.

Usually, on this day, every single flagpole in the country will fly a Norwegian flag, and many cities erect extra flagpoles just for the day, however, these guys decided to celebrate the May 17 on the ocean floor.

M/V Normand Reach is signed to Reach Subsea on a long-term charter from Solstad Offshore. From its delivery, the vessel has been operating for DOF Subsea with Reach ROVs and personnel on Board.
