Weatherford on Tuesday said the agreement entailed the use of its rotary steerable system in both re-entry wells and new wells.

According to the oilfield services company, the three-year for drilling services was awarded to help ADNOC increase offshore production in the UAE.

ADNOC Offshore is an offshore arm of the national oil company ADNOC, responsible for the development and delivery of oil and gas resources in Abu Dhabi waters.

ADNOC in November 2018 said its plan was to increase its oil production capacity to 4 million barrels per day (mmbpd) at the end of 2020 and 5mmbpd by 2030.
