Wood Group wins more Browse FLNG work

Wood Group said on Thursday it has been awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Woodside-operated Browse FLNG project from Shell.

Under the new twelve-month contract Wood Group Kenny (WKG) will carry out flow assurance and process integration studies for the proposed development’s three offshore gas-condensate fields – Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa, stands in the statement.

UK-based Wood Group added that this is the third Browse FLNG FEED contract WKG won. Earlier this month, the company won a FEED contract from Woodside to progress the configuration design of the flexible risers and umbilicals, and in July 2015, WGK secured a US$6 million contract to perform all design engineering for the development’s insulated production flowline system.

The proposed Browse project, located 425 km north of Broome, Western Australia, is based on three FLNG facilities to develop the Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa fields in the Browse Basin and is subject to final investment decision targeted for the end of the FEED in the second half of 2016.
