Hoegh Autoliners has signed a contract with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd to build three next generation PCTCs (Pure Car and Truck Carriers), which will be the hallmark of the industry. Deltamarin signed a design contract with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd for the Basic (Approval) Design of the vessel on the same day.

Höegh Autoliners invests continuously in developing ship designs and specifications to enhance and improve efficiency and decrease environmental impact. Deltamarin has a long term co-operation with the ship owner in designing new vessels. The concept for these newbuildings has also been developed by Deltamarin together with Höegh Autoliners.

Deltamarin’s contract with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry includes a complete basic design package for the newbuilding.

The new generation of Höegh Autoliners PCTC vessels will have a higher cargo capacity than existing PCTC’s, while maintaining a low fuel consumption. The new design offers a deck area to carry 8500 car equivalent units and has the flexibility to carry also high and heavy project cargo. The vessel includes state of the art technology that will reduce the vessels impact on its environment.

Deltamarin has for many years worked on the eco designs and many of these designs have resulted in fuel efficient vessel types that have proved their environmental friendliness aftersailing for years. Special emphasis has been put on efficiency, safety and environmental issues.
