Xodus Group Launches Operation in Perth, Australia

International energy consultancy Xodus Group has launched an AUD 3 million (£2 million) operation in Perth, Australia as it sees big opportunities for its integrated services in major greenfield projects.

Andy Jones has returned to the company to head up the new office as operations director and is currently recruiting a team of skilled engineers with four people in place and plans to have 20 over the next 12 months.

Mr Jones joins Xodus from Genesis in Perth where he was team leader for dynamic process simulation. He previously worked at Xodus Group’s Scotland headquarters from 2006 – 2010. Xodus employs more than 400 people wordwide, delivering services covering total field development, integrated asset support, projects and management consultancy.

Colin Manson, CEO of Xodus Group said: ‘We are building a multi-skilled team of top class engineers and believe our proven service offering will bring many benefits to oil and gas operators in Australia. With significant new LNG developments underway, we have the integrated field development capabilities to deliver value and time savings.’

The new office is located in the AMP Tower in the Central Business District. Heading up the team, Andy has 17 years’ experience in process engineering across the chemical, nuclear and oil and gas industries.

Nick Jacob joins as environment engineering team lead. He has worked in environmental regulators, operator companies and consultancy for over 10 years and brings extensive experience in concept design, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), and legal compliance and certification.

Michael Putrino is a flow assurance engineer also based in Perth. His experience is predominantly in offshore environments in intermediate and deep water, specialising in thermohydraulics and fluid and phase behaviour.

Matt Doyle joins the team as principal process engineer and has eight years’ experience in process engineering with more than six years specialising in dynamic process simulation. He has an excellent knowledge of process control with particular focus on compressor operation and safeguarding.

Janine Molineux has been appointed as financial controller of the Perth operation. With more than 12 years’ experience in business finance, she will be a key member in the team driving the business forward.
