XPD8 wins FPSO contract off Ghana

Asset integrity management specialist XPD8 Solutions has continued its recent success in West Africa for work off the coast of Ghana.

XPD8 wins FPSO maintenance programme contractOver an 18-month period, the company will develop the maintenance programme and inventory data for MODEC’s TEN MV25 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, operated on behalf of Tullow Oil.

XPD8 is recognised as a leader in maintenance engineering, condition monitoring and integrity services for the oil & gas sector. The company’s international reach has grown over the past 12 months to cover Europe, South East Asia and Africa.

XPD8’s project office in London will deliver the Ghana contract and the firm is looking to increase its staff numbers in the city from six to eight. The company currently employs around 50 members of staff, most of which are located at its headquarters in Aberdeen. Customer demand led to XPD8 opening its London facility during 2009 to better service clients based nearby and internationally.

Scott Morrison, XPD8 London Project Manager, said: “We have worked with both Tullow Oil and MODEC in the past and we look forward to continuing and building upon what have been successful partnerships.

“Our service is focused on improving clients’ asset performance and reducing costs through efficiency savings. To achieve this we work closely with our clients to develop maintenance activities to support safe and professional operations.”

Formed in 2003, XPD8 is a privately owned company which provides skilled engineers for all areas of the data development process.

Last month, XPD8 announced it had secured work to provide condition monitoring services with an operator in Equatorial Guinea as part of a £4million triple contract win that also included work with Wood Group, on behalf of Dana Petroleum, and Apache in the UK North Sea.

XPD8 has received ISO9001 accreditation for its quality management systems which ensures high standards throughout the business.
