Yuriy Boyko Ukraine in Constant Talks with Russia Regarding Imported Gas Price

Ukraine is holding talks with Russia concerning reducing of imported gas price and successfully realizes the program of improvement of its own energy independence.

This was announced by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko in his interview with the 5 channel.

“We are into constant negotiations with partners. We show than that this year we have significantly reduced consumption of expensive Russian gas. The second – we are holding diversification, we purchase gas from Europe, where it is cheaper. Moreover, we are increasing our own extraction,” the Vice Premier stressed.

Yuriy Boyko added that by selling expensive gas to Ukraine Russia, in fact, loses Ukrainian market.

He also emphasized that during talks concerning cooperation with the Customs Union it wasn’t about prices for energy carriers, as Ukraine was not the member of this Union.
