Busy Weekend for Ulstein Verft

Last weekend was hectic at Ulstein Verft, as three PSV sisters of the PX121 design were on the move. Yno 296, Blue Thunder, was launched on Saturday 9 March, and is now situated quayside, bright and blue. The hull of Yno 298 was docked into the dock hall for outfitting. While the newly delivered Blue Power, left on Friday for her first assignment in the spot market.

Efficiency and flexibility have been the focus in the development of the PX121 design. With optimised tank capacities and flexible and segregated tank arrangements, these multifunctional vessels are suitable for many types of supply contracts.

The PX121 design has a length of 83.4 metres and a beam of 18 metres. It has a cargo deck of 850 square metres and a load capacity of 4200 tonnes (dwt). The ships meet the requirements of DNV’s Clean Design notation and are prepared for fire-fighting class Fi-Fi II. The vessels have a maximum speed of circa 16 knots and modern accommodation for 24 persons.
