Samsung Heavy Lands $1.3 Bln Statoil Deal

One of the world’s top five shipbuilders Samsung Heavy Industries Co Ltd.(SHI) has won a major order from Norwegian Statoil ASA to build two large-scale jack-up rigs.

The contract, announced today on KRX, is said to be worth 1.46 trillion won (approx. $1.3 billion).

Delivery deadline for the rigs is October 2016.
