PSA Inspects Skrugard Weather Conditions Documentation

PSA Inspects Skrugard Weather Conditions Documentation

On 3 and 4 April 2013, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of Statoil’s work to specify meteorological and oceanographic conditions for the Skrugard development.

The Skrugard development will be the northernmost development on the Norwegian shelf. The facilities on the Skrugard field will then, to a greater extent than previous developments, be impacted by cold climate, particularly icing, sea ice and icebergs.

The objective of the audit was to verify through random checks that Statoil was preparing a reasonable and documented description of the meteorological and oceanographic conditions in the area, in compliance with applicable regulations.

No nonconformities were identified.

Improvement items were identified in connection with:

– routines for quality control of software

– data analysis
